My love affair with yoga began about ten years ago during sunrise practices on a rooftop in Udaipur, India.
In my class we use the eight limbs of yoga to learn to feel instead of think and I believe we should feel energised by our practice, never exhausted.
My favourite yoga track is Baba Hanuman by Krishna Das. I play it before every practice, for me it sets the perfect tone.
When I’m not teaching a yoga class I’m probably practicing in a yoga class! Or… I may be in some far off, mystical land with a backpack on my back.
My favourite Asana is Bhujangasana – held for several minutes, eyes closed and awareness focussed on the heart centre. Energetically this is the part of you that gives and receives Love… This practice increases your capacity to do so!
My guilty pleasure? White chocolate cookies! Forget yoga, white chocolate cookies are the only true route to Samadhi…
The words I tend to live by are: Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, if they don’t like what you have to say, you’ll be a mile away. And you’ll have their shoes.
