I first discovered yoga as part of movement classes at drama school and when I left I carried on classes to keep fit and then slowly realised the physiological, spiritual and meditative qualities that practicing yoga brings.
When you take part in a James Cassidy yoga class you can expect a challenging but accessible flow of exercise and posing, incorporating the entire body and mind, as well as breathing. Through intelligent sequencing, we will work together to slowly open up the body to reach its full potential.
My taste in yoga music changes all the time – I really like to mix it up from traditional mantras to balearic beats. I find that a varied selection of music is great for getting your body moving in different ways. A different beat… A different approach.
When I’m not teaching yoga you’ll often catch me at the theatre or cinema or enjoying a hearty meal somewhere. I also absolutely adore travel and nature and try to immerse myself in it as much as I can.
My favourite asana pose is Savasana. It’s the perfect pose to start and end a yoga session and allows your mind and body to realign and go over the thoughts of the session and day.
