I found yoga as a 17 year old and was inspired by the graceful yet hard work-out, of feeling grounded and centered. When I was pregnant with my son in my twenties my yoga practice stepped up, and the yoga mat became my daily recharge point and solace.
Since training I have lived and taught in India and specialised in Yoga Therapy, Dynamic Yoga, Anatomy, Pregnancy, and Yin Yang under the guidance of many internationally renowned teachers.
I love the challenge of pushing myself beyond boundaries, feeling worked and the radiance and stillness of mind that follows. You can expect a strong deep practice in my classes, with an emphasis on alignment, mindfulness and deep relaxation.
My fave artists for yoga are Four Tet, Phoria, Snatam Kaur, Deva Premal and particularly Happiness by Jonsi.
When I’m not on the mat I am… on the tube or a bike between classes! Or more happily – in the pottery studio, inventing weird juice/smoothie combinations, and getting ready for a film/duvet-lock-in with my son.
My favourite asana is Pincha Mayurasana.
Guilty pleasure – I don’t feel that guilty about it but – raw chocolate… Any chocolate. Bed.
The words I go by are “Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” -Goethe.
